More than a third of the house owner (34%) upgrade his bathtub during a remodel. Between the rest, 9% keep the tub, 26% remove it, and never had to start with 25%.
When the tubs come out, most home owners make a splash with additional space: 82% increase their shower and 20% move it. Others use space to expand cabinetry (9%) or move their pride or cabinets (6% each), while 5% increase their pride or sink.
Styles. Freestanding flat-boatum tubs remain the most popular option, chosen by 45% of the household owners, who rebuild their bathrooms, Alkov tubs are locked behind 40%. Deck-mounted tubs slipped from 10%to 6%this year, while Frustanding Claw-foot (4%), corner (2%) and other (3%) styles have only a small portion for a small portion.
Special features. More than half of the householders (55%) add special features when upgrading their tubs, showing that comfort and safety are top priorities. Nonsalep flooring (24%) and grab bar (23%) are the most popular, while two more sewers or jets appeal up to 12%space. Built-in seating and lighting appear in 7%tub, with a hot backrest (4%) and smart-frill (1%) list.
