A creative director got his 969-square-foot home in Madrid into shape

Jorge Redondo, Creative Director redondo brandwas looking for a house madridAnd he found it in one of his comfort zones – the city’s Salamanca neighborhood. Just over a year ago the label opened its first boutique in the Spanish capital, a neutral and elegant “architectural experience” designed by Madrid-based architectural firm GAS. Not far away, Redondo has now built his own private retreat, a 969-square-foot apartment that he decorated himself reflecting his unique creative vision. It’s a space that is modern and elegant at the same time, with a touch of color that reflects the fun and festive look of their collection. “I wanted my home to reflect me, my work and the things I love,” he explained when we spoke to him in New York, where he was finalizing the details of the campaign for his next fashion show. Which will be there. January.

Like his store, Redondo created an atmosphere full of personality in his home. Every detail is designed to allow him to disconnect after long days at work. “It’s my sanctuary, a place where I can explore my creativity,” he says. The result is a balance between functionality and style, which also characterizes his work as a fashion designer. Redondo’s training in architecture and her daily experience working with colors, fabrics, and materials were invaluable when it came to designing a space that combined functionality and beauty.

Advertisement Spain: How did your experience as a fashion designer shape your approach when designing your home?

Redondo: Ultimately I think the personal style I bring to the Redondo brand collections is also present in my home interiors. I work with colors, fabrics and different materials every day and it made it easier to visualize what I was going to design and what the end result would be. I also studied architecture and that was the key to taking this project forward.

What was your main inspiration when it came to designing the different spaces?
