This is according to a new report by JD Power, which found that consumer satisfaction with North American airports is improving, which scores the board throughout the board. From last yearOne of the 1,000 points, on a scale, overall satisfaction with “mega” airports – which JD Power defines as airports per year with 33 million or more passengers – 8 points up. Overall satisfaction with “large” airports, which look at 10 million from 10 million to 32.9 million passengers, 15 points up, while satisfaction with “medium” airports – which had annual – 10 points with 4.5 million to 9.9 million passengers.
And when the scores are up, the satisfaction of the firm’s 2025 North American airport is signs of stability in the study. For the second consecutive year, the Miniapolis-Sent Paul International Airport (MSP), John Wayne Airport (SNA) led the categories of its respective airport at Orange County, California and Indianapolis International Airport (IND).

In the “mega” airport category, MSP topped with 660 points (which was actually 11 points below 2024). Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) came second with 649 points, while Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) came third with 634 points.
For the fourth year in a row, the Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) ended in the final place, although with a score of 565 – 13 points from the previous year.
SNA led the “large” category with 730 marks for the second consecutive year, in which Tampa International Airport (TPA) ranked second and Dallas Love Field (DAL) ranked third.
In the “medium” category, IND led the fourth consecutive year. Ontario International Airport (ONT) came in second place in California, while Buffalo Niagra International Airport (Buf) finished third.
The results are based on 30,439 US and Canadian passengers surveys, which pass through at least one North American airport between July 2024 and July 2025. Like previous years, the survey was focused on seven major factors: ease of travel through the airport, level of trust with airport, terminal facilities, airport staff, or airports to travel, food and experience for travel.

Michael Taylor, JD Power’s Managing Director Travel, Hospitality and Retail said, “A large part of this recent increase in passenger satisfaction is recently due to improving many airport facilities. Some big capital reform projects have now completed and many more are running or many more or more,” Michael Teller, JD Power’s Managing Director Travel, Activities, Activities, Authenticity and Sudges.
One of the other big factors improving score was availability Original and strong food and retail optionsGot JD Power. Satisfaction with food, drinks and retail was 14 points compared to the previous year, the JD power described as “authentic local” brands on a large scale was described as the “real sense of location”.
