“Renault wants to live in Formula 1. I believe Francois is in Monza (next week) for the first race. I know her very well and in fact, the program is the same.

“Chairman, (gene-dominic) Senard, supports Formula 1. We need better results-this is what we need next year. But this year is very complex for us.

“We made a lot of effort in 2026 car, such as Toto (Wolf) said. But it is not easy to explain the rules. Perhaps we have made a mistake by not taking any steps from the beginning of the season, and we pay for it.

“Also, at this moment, two or three tenth, these are 10 or 15 cars. We know that we have a major obstacle with the engine. We forget this year and will be happy in 2026.

“This is what we hope in this moment. I hope the new president of Renault is very assistant and at this time, in the Renault Group, there is no drama, no change. Everyone is happy.”

“It’s good, I know Steve is a long time,” said Brytor. “He was with me at the time of Renault and we need a person like Steve, we need a team manager, we need someone who knows the system, someone who knows people and coordinates someone from A to Z from A to Z.

“This is not the only task I expect from Steve, I hope to be in charge from Steve A to Z – what the managing director is doing.

“I am happy to be Steve next week, I believe the first day is Monday and we have the first race with Steve in Monza.”
