Blackmagic Slash Cinema Camera Prices

Blackmagic Design announced a sufficient price reduction in its Ursa cine camera kits, marking a rare step in the high end cinema camera market where prices are usually rising.

Ursa Cine Line, which was first introduced in 2024, includes 12k lf And flagship 17k 65 The models are designed around both large-form sensors, which are aimed at professional film and television production. Since the launch, Blackmazic has focused on refining production costs, and the company now says that those capabilities are being passed directly to customers through low pricing.

Price cuts are important. Ursa Cine 12K LF was priced at the first $ 14,995, now retail for $ 9,495, while the EVF bundle is reduced from $ 16,495 to $ 10,995.

At the high end, Ursa cine reduces 17k from 65 $ 29,995 to $ 22,995, and the EVF kit falls from $ 31,495 to $ 24,495. Depending on the model and configuration, the savings range from 22% to 36%.

It is worth noting that the above prices exclude duties; Therefore, prices in the United States will be more due to tariffs, although still much lower than old prices.

Production-kit

Each Ursa cine kit is designed to shoot-red out of the box. The kit includes the camera body, an 8TB media module, top handle, basplate, power supply, and battery plates, which are all packed in a rugged pelican case. Users can also add electronic viewfinder (EVF) to more complete setups.

This all-in-one approach simplifies infections for the presentations adopting large-form workflows, enableing filmmakers to start shooting immediately without a source of source.

Technical main attraction

Blackmagic Ursa Cine 17k 65 is built around a 65 mm sensor and has already received Netflix approval for original presentations. Blackmagic Design promises that 12K LF excels in resolution, dynamic range and rolling shutter performance, confirming that these cameras provide professional-grade image quality at a fraction of the cost of many competitive large-form cameras.

For filmmakers, this means access to ultra-high-resolution cinema cameras with strong latitude and fine expansion, accessible on only more budgets than before.

Market impact

By reducing the price of its Ursa cine line, blackmizic design can encourage widely adopting independent presentations, small studios and large-forming cinema cameras between emerging cinematographers. The lower entry point makes it possible to include high-end digital cinematography in projects that could not make the expenses already right.

Will this aggressive price drop to a wave of new presentations towards the large -formal workflows, it remains to be seen, but it clearly reflects Ursa cine series as a competitive and accessible alternative to filmmakers looking for cinematic image quality without historically prohibitory value tags.
