Athens concept store and cafe 10am apotheke have opened one pop up store On the Southern Azian Island of Antiperos, with the interiors designed by the brand founder Eva Papadaki and Studio Andrew Trotter,
During the day, 10 am Pop-up is operated as a store selling a mixture of homeware and skincare items, serving fresh pressed juices, coffee and seasonal breakfast dishes with a site cafe.
In the evening, the site turns at once, which offers a menu of the botanical cocktail infected with wild ingredients that are native to antiperos.
Papadki collaborated with Barcona-based Studio Andrew Trotter On the inner parts of the pop-up, which handles the museum of the former folklore of antiperose and was designed to provide customers an insight into the slow, more desired style of living on the island.
“It was never to be a traditional retail place,” Papdiki told Dezen. “It was designed as a home, through which you can move forward, stay inside and return – a place where each function has memory and intention.”
“It connects back to our roots, and it again defines what a concept store could be,” he said.
The center of the plan has a store, where products are shown on wooden dresser and tables that were obtained from the vintage markets of Greece.
From there, Papandiki said, the layout reveals a lot like a house, with a sequence of space serving each different task.
There is a large kitchen, which boasts of lime-plaster walls and a stainless steel counter.
This is followed by a front garden with tables and woven-back-back chairs, where customers can sit to enjoy their food and drink.
“Finally, we also put a garden in the back – the way our grandparents were near the grandfather – who now supplies the bar with our kitchen and herbs and vegetables,” said Papadaki. “It is part of all space living. Not only designing it.”
Greek artist Theodore psychose A handful of furnishings were invited to sculpture for pop-ups including a bench, dining table and candle altar. Each piece is engraved from heavy blocks of marble.
“Supporting with Theodore Psychoys comes from the desire to bring the local, rebuked Greek marble into space – not as decorative elements, but as functional pieces,” Papadaki explained. “The result is almost like an installation.”
