Mesonia: An artisan-made boutique suite in San Miguel de Alande


Located in the vibrant San Antonio neighborhood of San Miguel de Olende, a new design-forward escape invites passengers to slow down and live within the creative spirit of contemporary Mexican crafts. MesoniaWhich opened in June 2025, is the latest composition of artist and designer Daniel Valerofounder of Mastiz StudioAnd this converts the idea of ​​the boutique into a completely immersive design experience.

Away from a traditional hotel room, Mesonia serves as an experimental living space – part private retreat, part living gallery – where every surface, stability, and furnishing crafts tells a story of crafts, culture and location. Inside, every detail is the custom, including furniture, lighting, woven fabrics, ceramic, and architectural details, all are designed by the studios and have been brought to life through artisan techniques developed in collaboration with master craftsmen from Baji region and master craftsmen from northern Mexico. It is a place that feels deeply vested while remaining fresh and original.

The suite is a sensory treatment, brought together by a vivid and joyful color palette – Sky Blue Walls, which miracity to the endless sky of San Miguel, the accents of the magenta that activate the space, caramel tone that echo the sunlight, and the Kelly Green Touching Recalls the Green Touching of the green. These hues threads through everything from handwowan rugs to ceramic tiles, creating a visual rhythm that is both grounded and uplift.
