Worried for those that the AI is going to change humans in the workforce, the National Football League (NFL) can see the head coach AI to call plays. You may remember that NFL has a deal with Microsoft which is in 2014 dates. The deal has provided several surface pro tablets to NFL teams to replace the poleroid cameras used by coaches and take pictures of aggressive and defensive alignment in the press box.

This last week, Microsoft and NFL added to their current deal, as 2,500 surface pro tablets will be distributed to NFL teams. Surface Pro Slates that NFL teams will get for the upcoming season, Kopilot, have already been established with AI assistant of Microsoft. Powering Copilot is a Prometheus model developed by Microsoft. It merges the GPT-4, GPT-4 turbo and GPT-4o of Openai with bing search results.
Teams can ask AI to take drama from their playbook, who have a good opportunity to succeed against the opposition based on the protective pattern used during the game. This can change things around in NFL, as top teams can be those who understand technology better. Each team may have to start hiring an AI coach that sits in the press box and asks Copilot that the exact question that can help the team find a weakness that can be exploited.
Both teams will have the same data, hardware and software
Remember, both teams will have access to the same data, the same hardware and the same software. What would be the matter which team has a better experience to use AI. It seems strange to think that the team that win the next super bowl may not cause champs due to their talent playing football, but because of their talent to use AI.
If it succeeds in NFL, we can watch more games using AI. However, to be honest with you, can anyone say what exactly will indicate that NFL has come up with a winner? Will it be close, more exciting sports, league-wide equality? And it goes to any game that decides to go with AI. I personally believe that AI may be better as a tool to develop a game plan before the actual competition. And many of these patterns and data are already calculated by most professional teams in all sports.
Some coaches may stop that AI has a tendency to “hallucinations”. If it does not have enough information and data to make informed decisions, AI will give a wrong answer called hallucinations. Imagine the coach of a losing super bowl team that after the game, the press said that his team lost the game as his AI had hallucinations.
