There are all anger in the waste bar Budapest And in 2002, all the ruins of all ruins bars have been around since the installation of Szimpla Kirt. This neighborhood was left for decay after World War II, so it was an ideal place to develop an underground bar scene. These places were far away from the way to banging, thicker around the edges, and were fulfilled to artists, students and alternative people.
But they became very popular and well known by 2010 and went well in the mainstream, although their settings have not changed.
From the outside, these bar looks like normal buildings. They do not have big signs pointing to the way, you do not hear no noise, and there is no line of people, but once you go in and enter the inner courtyard, you find yourself stirring with a crowd in a hip, artistic, and funky bar, who are talking, dancing, and enjoy the atmosphere of Wak-Pitha. Large bouncers with posted indications, ensure that people calm down on their way so that neighbors cannot be disturbed.
Each of these ruins bars has their own personality, but they all follow some basic principles: Find an old, abandoned place, rent it, set it once, fill it with flea market furniture, some artists come to leave their mark on walls and roof, add some strange entics, add some strange entics, look into alcohol.
When you are in these bars, you feel that you are drinking at your local thrift store. No furniture matches. It is all old. It is generous. It seems that they have only vandalized your grandmother’s house. The roofs are all separate designed and locations are not repaired or fixed, and still have holes everywhere in walls and visible pipes.
Although the ruins bar movement has become the mainstream, many bars have done a good job of keeping their character and staying right for their roots – even they fill with more tourists.
Here is a list of Budapest’s best ruins bars:
Szimpla kert
This was the original ruins bar. It opened in 2001, began this trend. It is one of the largest wasted bar and still one of the most popular. Once after an abandoned factory, now there is a large open courtyard, a top floor that is filled with generous furniture, cocktail bar, music, and even an old, stripped-down trabant (a communist car), with a drink. All rooms have a different subject. They also sell pizza, which, after some drinks, makes for the snack of the right running home. Everyone takes it here that it says that it is one of the best bars they have ever done. If you travel just once, make it one.
Grandio
Grandio is a ruins bar and one hostel in one. It is famous for its exterior, tree -filled courtyard, but is mostly full of people on travelers and bars as it is also a hostel. This is a good place to start your night and meet other passengers. During the day you can rest the locals with drinks in the garden here. It is not quite unruly in the form of other bars and, since it is small, it has a slightly higher of a laid back and intimate vibe.
Durr kert
A pre-university building, this ruins bar and music site lets you tap in your inner college student because you drink some beer while playing phosball, ping-pong, darts and a French game, called Pattan (it’s fun). The courtyard garden is a good place to enjoy all the live music in this time. The space is really large and has a lot of activity here. Also, I love how art and picture on the wall.
Immediate fogus complex
The Instant-Fogus Complex is located in an entire apartment building and the city has the largest ruins bar. There are more than 20 rooms, 18 different times, several dance floors and 2 gardens. It is one of the more club-ruins bars. In the immediate, you can once sit in a individual apartment and relax on furniture that it looks that it was found on the road. They have knocked several walls to connect the apartments and make a place for DJ and dance. Given its popularity and the fact that it is more “clubbe”, the drink here is slightly more expensive than other ruins bars. If you want to dance away at night, it is a bar for you.
Dobz
I am not fully sure that this place fits into a ruin culture. It was much fanatic and trendy compared to other bars seen by me. It was like being in a “real” bar. However, I was taken there as part of a ruined bar tour, and, even though, I loved this place very much. You walk in the courtyard and greet by a tree with a red -eyed robot. It seems that a transformer is going to attack you. There are two main rooms: one red, the other blue. They play a lot of dance music, and this place is filled at the end of the night. Only the negative side is that it has more limited opening hours than other bars.
Mazel Tov
It is one of Budapest’s newest wasted bar. Mazel TV (located in the old Jewish quarters) is a community center and restaurant that serves traditional Jewish recipes. At night, the courtyard is a party with DJ and live entertainment that entertains entertainment. There is also a restaurant here. I would not call it a “ruined bar” in the traditional sense, but it is a good atmosphere, the decoration is good, and it is a very good drink. It is staunch compared to all other people, so some “rough rough tumbls” are not expected.
Csendes letterum cafes and bars
If you are looking for more kept back-back to balance the party atmosphere of some other ruins bars, but do not want to renounce a quiet vintage aesthetics, then this is the bar for you. It is located in the center of the Budapest and is the right place to rest and share the drink with friends or settle for an evening of conversation. Bar also serves food and is Wi-Fi, so you often get digital nomads.
Budapest You can sell themselves on history and thermal bath, but the ruins bar is the most unique thing about this city so far. Even if you don’t drink, spend time on these ruins bars because they are such a cowardice way to see a popular and completely unique aspect of life in Budapest (you can take a single one Self-directed tour of some bars Which includes skip-the-line entry). When you also travel, you will meet a lot of local people! So, don’t miss them.
