Investment in DPREVIEW community: meet our new community manager

Here in DPREVIEW, we usually do not write news articles about ourselves, but today I am making an exception to share an exciting update. We have added a full -time person to our team dedicated to the management of our online forums. It represents an important investment in the future of DPREVIEW and, even more importantly in our community.

Permanent value of our forums

The stage of the DPREVIEW has been a central part of our site since the beginning, with millions of posts dating back by 1999. These platforms are a vault of dating dating in the early days of digital photography and one of the most cited forums on the Internet by Google. To say that he had a huge impact on the digital photography community, it would be an understanding.

Over the last 25 years, our forums have run more or less autonomous, thanks to an incredible team of dedicated volunteers intermediaries. Their commitment is necessary in preserving expert-making discussions that make our forums a reliable resource. In addition to a full -time community manager, there is no replacement for these mediators, but an expansion of our commitment to the forums, allowing us to support our volunteers more effectively.

What does this mean for our forums

Adding a full -time person focusing on the community will allow us to bring a better forum experience.

In the near period, this means that we will be able to provide you better support, more faster. When you require a question or help, we will be able to solve it soon. This will also allow us to give more consistent moderation. Our volunteers mediated are a dedicated bunch, but they need our guidance and support. Matthew is already working to provide them direct support for better equipment, better communication channels and challenging moderation decisions.

With about 85 different sub-forms, the DPREVIEW platform is a busy place.

However, this is when we look forward that things become really exciting. We plan to launch several new community initiatives, including staff-contact discussions threads, members spotlights, or even community programs. This dedicated focus will help us to do better work in interesting and informative content from users and find ways to share it with you.

Finally, our team is working on some major changes behind the curtain that will experience our forum on a position and allow us to do things that we have not done in the past. I will not give anything right now, but you can consider this official teaser that something is coming.

A commitment to our community

Our community is at the core of what we do. The homepage of DPREVIEW can make headlines, but it is in our forums where people share knowledge, create personal relations, and develop communities based on shared interests.

By adding a community manager in our team, we are making an active investment not only in the future of our forums but also in DPREVIEW as a brand, and we are excited for all of you for riding.

Finally, if you have a moment, please welcome Matthew in DPREVIEW Team in this dedication Stage thread,
