In Begur (Girona, Costa Brava), the owners of this house wanted their home to overcome the comfort and feeling of local houses from the late 20th century: House is shaded and cool, with thick, white walls. These design concepts, however, are not only indifferent or retro approaches and instead they are very popular today. The architects said, “The randomly random chain of the volume is Evox and gives continuity to an ideal of the Mediterranean Sea, which is highly valuable and promoted in most of the 20th century modernity.”
In the 21st century, a new wave of interest in traditional Mediterranean design is enjoying, as is a new emphasis on decorative trends and stability, and architects are rapidly turning to large construction techniques.
This house is a prime example of a traditional Mediterranean building in its best form: its white walls, traditional roofs, built -in furniture, and native vegetation are completely integrated into an external landscape that is spontaneously mixed with internal spaces. It represents the ideal of the Mediterranean design in both the past and the present. Or, in other words, this is exactly the house where we want to spend an endless heat, surrounded by cedar trees, stone and sea.
