When Marta Ordovs Lalado says his new house “is the house he always dreamed,” it is just more than a clich that he is repeating. As children, the Spanish designer and her sister had a game: if they pass a house, they want to stay inside, they would pretend to ring the door bell, shout “It’s me!,” And then run away. Years later, he remembered that childhood jokes when they were running together and lost in a neighborhood streets in the north of the north. MadridOrdovas imagined himself to knock himself at the door of a house which he saw. Then hit the epidemic, he decided to move, and after a massive search, he initially saw a house photos with “incredible vibes” without knowing its exact location.
On the day of the journey, when her taxi stopped in front of the house, she could tell that she was the house she always wanted. There were unique details in the 1950s building, but it was also dark and divided into a lot of small places, with a drop roof and black wood work. It has now been transformed into an open, bright and colorful house, welcoming as a specific and its owner with a personality. She knew that it was a match that day, the perfect project for someone that “prefers to restore old things, which still have life,” from clothes to furniture and of course, her own home.
“Change everything without changing anything”

That is, they placed the original pieces, restored the essential elements, and filled the interval with microSement, obtained an architectural relationship between the past and the present. This strategy was repeated throughout the house.
With family
The result was a neutral background-with a touch of color to bring the space walls and light colored floor-life. For example, the original railing is now painted in red, while yellow lacquer dining room tables and a wooden books are custom designs by Ordovas. Their interested in internal decorations with her aunt, interior designer Maria Lalado in the family, whose effect is seen in some old light fixtures, unusual arms, Maurano Glass Ashtre collections and striking rugs in the living room. “I was excited for those who have always inspired me – my mother, my aunt, my grandfather – are reflected in my house. Green upholstery on the couch reminds me of some clothes by Gustavo Torner who was in my grandparents’ house,” she tells me. She was firm to make her own custom couch, and it proved to be a wise decision.
