The big stakes of American Airlines on the premium are getting even bigger.
Fort Worth, Texas-based airline on Wednesday announced three exciting updates related to its new flagship Jet, Boeing 787-9P, which began after the previous month’s expectation.
The aircraft provides American’s new signature business-class experience, and it marks a new era for the airline that historically does not compete heavily as some of its peers for the premium market.

US expansion 787-9P network

Right now, the aircraft is specially flying between Chicago and London, but on Wednesday it was announced that it would be expanded to include several additional markets.

All these existing routes will be updated to reflect new aircraft configurations by Monday, July 7, and passengers booked on these flights will then be able to see the updated seat map. In addition, passengers looking to buy a flight run especially by this jet will have to look for the “78P” designer while shopping through American booking channels.
In the context of the strategy of deployment, it is not surprising to see the American growing up in London. Even though the US-to-London market is already saturated with a premium service, the American believes that a more unused premium demand is that it can capture with this new aircraft.

Suites are officially suites
When American Inaugurated 787-9P, It was required to modify a major aspect of business-class experience. All sliding doors were closed in open positions as the airline had not yet received the necessary certification to use them from the federal aviation administration.
The good news is that the doors have now officially acquired the approval of FAA, and the airline will activate the door function in the flagship suit product in the coming days.

New onboard features
In another major investment in the premium, the US will start offering mattress pads and pajamas in business classes on all flights to East Asia, Middle East, India, Australia and New Zealand.
The airline shared that these new features would be available at the beginning of this summer, and it would be included in the current sleep features, such as slippers, luxurious pillows and duvets.
Over the years, the American has offered pajamas and mattress pads on selected ultra-long-hall flights, but those premium touchs have also been raised back in recent months, possibly to reduce the cost.
In addition, the new business-class-plas experience of American, dubbed flagship suits will be preferred, will continue to include hardcore features, such as large amenity kits and enhanced beds. This product will be charged as a separate ad-on in the coming months, but for now, the American confirmed that it would be available on the first come, first served basis during the booking.
