Garment Pre-Fall 2025 Collection

On the evidence of the Spring shows and this Pre-Fall collection, The Garment is coming into its own. The Copenhagen-based label was founded in 2020 by industry veteran Charlotte Eskildsen, who initially enlisted the help of Sophia Rowe. The influencer departed after the spring 2024 show, and the designer has since been flying solo but in good company: Members of the Danish royal family have been spotted at some of the shows.

talking about spring 2024 collectionThe bow detail from it was transferred to the back of tops and jackets for Pre-Fall, much as the flowy organza top that opened the spring show was abbreviated here. Suffice it to say that Eskildsen takes an evolutionary approach to design. “This is becoming a touchpoint for me to build something that I think will last for a long time,” he said on a call. “I’m not focused on what the new thing is… I think now is the time to build on the things you’ve worked so hard to develop.”

The simplicity and certainty of the brand name suggests a focus on reimagined wardrobe pieces. (Eskildsen’s other B Corp-certified brand, founded in 2002, is called Designers Remix.) The focus of The Garment’s pre-fall was “pairing something really sheer and something really heavy together,” says the designer. Said. So a semi-sheer shirt is paired with a gray tailored suit that features a bow detail on the breast pocket, and that suit jacket is later shown off with a wisp of chiffon skirt, while the double knit sports a thin The knit is layered on the turtleneck. The collection also brings together French- and Scandi-girl styles. Eskildsen has a house near the Fondation Méth in France, which he says reminds him somewhat of Denmark’s Louisiana. Taking inspiration from the colors of southern France, she has come up with a collection that combines polish and practicality.
