Place: Yorba Linda, California
size: 45 sq ft (4.2 square meters)
Homeowner request. Designer Taylor Harrison says, “We started with scratches with this place because there was only one bathroom in the original layout.” “Since the owners of the house like to entertain, they wanted to add a second bathroom that could be doubled as a stylish guest place. Our goal was to bring wow factor with a bold splash of color. The chief guest should have been filled with fickle, eye catching and personality from that moment as the chief guest bathroom.
Low-Black Shower Description. “We chose a low shower curb to keep the space open,” says Harrison, which brings other design details shining. ” “A quartz slab, which matches the countertop, creates a stunning infection in the shower pan tile from the hardwood floor, binds everything beautifully together.”
Other special features. “We knew that we wanted this bathroom to have a fun monochromatic look, so we kicked things by choosing a lively green tile for the walls of the shower. Then we fully matched it with the retreat of Sherwin-Villiums for paint on the applicable molding.”
Designer tip. “Sometimes it is short – but not in this bathroom,” says Harrison. “We packed as much personality as possible in only 45 sq ft. Molding up to bold green tons and playful countertops, floral wallpapers and rich green tiles, every inch of this place was designed to make a statement.”
“Uh-oh” moment. “Molding applied in a small space can be difficult to lining,” says Harrison. “You are working around mirrors, light, outlets and switches, which makes the layout a bit of a puzzle. But with careful planning and correct vacancy, it all comes together beautifully and is worth trying completely.”
