Earlier this year, just before the start of the 2025 season, Corey Lajoi NASCAR faced backlash for some comments made about xfinity and truck chain. Lajoi lost its full -time ride in the cup series and was committed to a part -time program in the cup, rejecting full -time opportunities in the lower divisions.
In January, while talking to Bob Pokras of Fox Sports, he was asked about drivers who voluntarily choose to move away from the cup series. “Those who say they want to try to win, they win one or two trucks in a year, and then they are the people of the lifelong truck, and they never go for the race on Sunday,” they said. “It’s all about Sunday. I don’t want to run F3, I want to be a Formula 1 driver.
“Do you want to pump ego and catch a trophy on Friday, when there are 12 people in Grandstand? … I can’t even tell my colleagues that I have been invested to go to less divisions because they do not return for their money. They want to bring their people to big shows, not Friday or Saturday.”
Those comments were not well received and in blindness, they are quite badly old. Lajoi recently announced a deal to run nine out of the last 13 truck chain races with Spire Motorsports as he helps him in his mission to secure the owner’s championship. So, what changed?

Ahead of the truck race in Michigan, Lajoi attended a press conference on Friday, where he addressed the subject.
“I have said a lot of dumb things on the camera, so it was just one and one … so to clean the context for everyone, I said that the five -day fast morning,” Lajoi said. “I wish, I wouldn’t have not added that ’12 (fans), okay, okay, because then the people within the truck garage committed a crime for it. Then … there are many things that came out, and it is just a negative light for a couple comments that I said when I was ‘Hangri’.”
Lajoi said that this truck was “no hesitant” in dealing with Spire Motisports
“I try to run as much as possible.

Lazoi further explained whether his fiery comments were inspired, saying: “My only attention was to be a cup series driver in my whole life. No, I want to do all this. It is all what I had cared for working since the age of 12, okay? I was really urinating and hungry, but it was my attention that he was trying to return on Sunday with the right group.
“But now, that’s likes, fun. I am running some modified race, model running for a while. I want to have fun because the cup garage enjoys a lot of it. It actually does it, because it is just a piece, and especially when you want to run away, you are not running as good, if you are not taking out any kind of external recognition,”
Feeling inspired and excited about the opportunity in front of him is a new approach of Lajoi later this week.
“I was sitting in a truck today during practice,” Lajoi said. “And I just thought, like, I get to run this thing.
Lajoie is also an analyst for prime video And there is a central part of the post-race show of streaming service, which are broadcast in this summer.
