Rico has announced the development of GR IV, which is the latest in the most preferred series of its long running and fixed lens compact cameras. An HDF version will also be introduced with the underlying highlight defusion filter.
Both cameras will have a new lens as well as a new sensor and processor, the company says. Rico says that the GR IV will have a sensor with 25.74 million effective pixels, which means the 26MP BSI chip used in Sony’s A6700.

The latest model of the high-end compact cameras of the Ricoh GR IV-GR-series.
In the history of about three decades (since the start of the film camera, Recoho GR 1), and two decades (since the introduction of the first digital-format GR Digital in 2005), the GR series has always laid the original concept of advancing the essential values of a camera: high image quality, quick reaction and portability. At the same time, the series has always included demand and refinement to meet the needs of the emerging user. Because of this, the GR-series model has been preferred by many photographers, especially professionals and highly experienced amateurs.
Currently, under development, Rico GR IV has inherited the basic GR-series concept, while a newly designed lens, a new image sensor and a new imaging engine have also been included completely new components to upgrade image quality. It also introduces more advanced communication functions and is compatible with a new application designed for smart devices to improve operative and functionality.
