Description
The microphones were wrapped in a very thin silophen in a smart, magnetically seal cardboard box. There was a microphone, charging and storage case inside. Inside there were microphone transmitters (TX) and receiver (RX) units.
At the bottom of the packaging there were more pieces of supporting gear in a box, including two dead cat windshields for the main wireless mic units. The kit also included two wired mix along with lapel clips that can be plugged into wireless mix. Each of them had a viosable foam windshield. There was also a small 3.5 mm cable to connect the RX unit to the camera and storage bags.
The microphones were stored and a solid case could be charged with an internal battery.
The instruction leaflet is very underdeveloped but is quite easy to follow. I like devices that I can see how it works without reading the instructions, and I was able to do so.
Everything looked good.
In use
TX units have an integrated microphone. They are relatively heavy compared to other wireless luxury mix I used by me. Therefore, when connecting it to the shirt pocket, the pocket relaxed, but it was fine with a thick jacket or clipped to open the shirt.
Adorable, the indicator on TX MIC units was not on the lights but on both sides; Front-faceing lights can distract the viewer. However, the manufacturer’s name is bold, white lettering. Then, this is a distraction. While creating the video, I will cover it with insulating tape or, more likely, use wired Mics plugged into TX units.
Mics are engaged with a spring lapel clip, the back of which is magnetated, so you can use the magnets supplied to hold them in place.
I initially attached the RX unit for a 3.5 mm microphone input on my computer and ran some test recording. Setting the profit on 0 DB, I found that it was too much and the sound stopped. Therefore, I reduced it to -6 dB. However, on the RX unit, the level indicator did not change because I had reduced the mic profit, so no one could trust him for a recording level. Instead, you need to monitor the levels with the headphones plugged into the RX unit. This is normal for most microphones.
The microphone has a great battery life. When fully charged, they use 874 minutes, about 14.5 hours.
I live and work in an old Victorian Stone House. At the beginning of my office desk, I went down, and it was not until I was almost not on the other side of the house that the signal connection fell. I could not do it far to work as much as I have done some tests, but out, it was still well connected at a distance of 100 yards, more people would need more than most people.
Along with other Lav Mics, it was important to keep the microphone at a constant distance from my mouth, because if I looked down the MICS, the amount of the recorded sound would change. Then the speech became very loud and clipped.
The sound quality was as good as I have tried to any Lav Mike, both TX Mike units are used as microphones and plug the wired MICS supplied.
I found that when I was speaking, AI noise cancellation did a great job to reduce the amount of background noise. You can hear the sound test of MICS on the attached video.
