This is a long time coming, but it is finally happening. In 2028, which is just 100th anniversary, Academy Awards will introduce a new category: Best Stunts. This is something that is actors, directors, stunt crew, and your really really champion over the years, and now those stunt artists will finally get some recognition in the biggest award show in the industry.
The campaign was re -prepared by David Leach after directing his od for stunts with last year. Criminally low Fall sung. Leach, the director of a former stuntman, was working hard to petition his craft so that he and others thought that no one often went to pay attention. Leach, along with other members of the community including Chris O’Hara, made his pitch at the academy in a dialect to allow the prestigious award ceremony to add stunts to his award show. The academy agreed and a new category, achievement in stunt design, will produce the inthir show.
Academy Keep the following statement out:
“Since the early days of cinema, stunt design has been an integral part of filmmaking. We are proud to respect the innovative works of these technical and creative artists, and we congratulate them for their commitment and dedication in reaching this important occasion.”
Velocity Also give your own statement:
“Stunts are essential for every style of the film and have deep roots in our industry history – from the groundbracking work of early pioneers like Buster Keaton, Herold Lloyd, and Charlie Chaplin, is a long journey for today’s stunt designers, coordinators, artists and choreographers. Stunts have fought for decades.
Of course, it is not all sunlight and rainbow. It has always been a concern that adding a stunt category will encourage more careless and dangerous work in search of glory, causing more accidents and deaths. The award rules will be out by 2027, which will give filmmakers and panelists time to come up with guidance and expectations for the category. I hope that the interpretation of stunts is not limited to action only, that. The dance sequence, according to their definition, should be considered as well as stunts, as the film has a hand -fighter scene just choreographed routines. If John Vik’s Crazy battle will be visible, I will debate something like a dance scene hail Caesar! Also, especially the choice of keton and chaplin with leach should be mentioned, who led the stunt craft without violent scenes.
John Vic Films director Chad Sterilsky and Kenu Reav’s stunt double, said: said:
“Stunts are such an associate and complex department, how are we going to determine who it goes? We have spent 100 years to receive the award, let’s just make sure that it goes to the right people.”
Keeping this in mind, I think the award will go to the team, not only the actor demonstrated the stunt. In the example of a leach, his production company, something like 87north productions, will be the recipient from the entire team, I would have anticipated.
