Nikon announced Z5 II Mirrorless Camera Last night, but apart from that announcement, there was another exciting Update for Nikon videographersThe company revealed that Adobe would finally provide support for Nikon’s N-U video format at Premier Pro.
N-Rw Nikon’s ownership is a 12-bit raw video format. It supports the REC2020 color gamut and allows users to adjust the white balance in post-production, much as possible with raw photo files. As a result, it provides more flexibility during the editing process. Despite additional data for editing purposes, it also produces smaller file size than Apple Prres Raw. This is ideal for those who require flexibility while saving space on memory cards and hard drives.
Dpreview 2025 Vishlist The N-U codec support has increased from software manufacturers as such limited option reduces the value of that in-camera Raw capture in editing programs. Only other options for editing N-U files are Devinsey Resolution and Redsin-X Pro, so it is great to see Adobe on board.
While the support for N-Ro in the Premier Pro is definitely welcome news, users will have to wait until the “end of 2025”. Nikon did not provide more specialties than this, simply saying that it would come with an updated version of the Premier Pro coming later this year.
