In the beginning of 2021Google Play Store sent a nearby share-making method to others to send apps to its device. This facility is going away soon.
Update 3/9/25: Google earlier said that “share apps” was moving away in December, while an in-app message said it would no longer be available “after January 2025”.
In recent times with version 45.2.19-31 of Play Store, the Peer-to-Pier (P2P) sharing method has been removed from the “Apps and Device” page. The list becomes smaller, no longer visible with the old nearby share icon.

Original 12/16/24: On the Play Store’s “Apps and Device Manage” page, “Share Apps” allows you to send apps installed on your device and get them from others. It is powered by a quick stock, although the old pass stock logo still appears on this page.
Chain Play Store released for 44.1 today says that “Share app will retire on Google Play.”
Those daysGoogle billed this feature as a way to send and receive Android apps without Wi-Fi or cellular connectivity. Peer-to-peer sharing can also conserve data and is ideal for slow network locations.
You can still use Files by Google To share Android application in an equal way. Under categories, go to “apps” and then overflow menu for what you want.
With all Google system release notesIn this case it takes a long time for features – or to remove – really roll out after receiving the app noted on your phone.
