Homeowner request. Designer Gabriel Bowe says, “Our customers are a young, fun-making families, looking for a functional, durable location with color, heat and functionality.” “With two young children, they needed storage and easily accessible open storage space for items such as their stroller and car seat. We took hardy materials such as nickel-gap paneling, a solid walnut bench seat, easy-to-clothes and a textured indoor-outdoor area rug, which would stand on the test of time and stand up to the dirty feet. ,
Mudoom storage features. “It was important to our customers that Mudum should be functional but there is no lack of style and beauty,” boys say. “We chose to design a custom bench with functional drawer for items like shoes and winter accessories. We put it on top with a solid walnut bench seat for the contrast and additional durability. We chose Benjamin Moore’s C Star Paint for Millwork, a soothing but rich pop color and a node for the love of the Mediterranean Sea of our customers. ,
Other special features. “We level the classic patterns in young colors with a neutral background and warm texture, all cuisted to merge the love of our customers of the Mediterranean Monster with the landscape of all New England,” boiles.
Designer tip. “It was important to think about the flow and ability of space in two to five years, knowing that this young family would eventually grow,” boys say. “Ensuring that they had additional shoes, winter gears and ultimately enough storage for backpacks.”
“Uh-oh” moment. “Due to the placement of existing doors and windows, originally closed, there was not an opportunity for long storage, which we felt that this family needed,” Bowe is called. “We were able to detect a cavity in the floor plan adjacent to the mudum, which was perfect for a functional closet. This place allowed us to keep the circulation open between all doors, but our customers gave a place to hide the coat and diaper bag when not in use. ,
