1. Legacy Maximalism
The “more is more” approach has been trending in our interiors for some time now, but this year’s show was more focused on the maximalism trend. Heritage Maximalism sees generous layering of patterns, colors and decorative details, with a nod to traditional country home style for a timeless, lived-in feel.
The look aligns with character moving forward in interior design and brings warmth and elegance to a potentially chaotic look. The traditional shapes and patterns give the plans a nostalgic feel that reminds those who enjoy curated displays of favorite pieces and a sense of history.
For example, London’s Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A) has collaborated with a number of brands, giving them access to its extensive collections for inspiration. Sofa & Stuff has launched a range of sofas in six colours, including Rouge (pictured) in paisley velvet inspired by 19th-century cashmere shawls.
