Homeowner request. The contractor Rafael Lopez says, “This room is located in a grand base and sits directly in front of the ladder, making it the first place seen on the entry.” “The homeowner wanted that it is still making an immediate imprint feeling invited and lustful. A striking fireplace design was important to achieve that balance: dramatically enough to watch TV and affect warm and acceptable to relaxation enough dramatic.”
Contemporary details. “The fireplace became a focal point and set a tone for a modern-dizzy beauty,” says designer Alaona Perov. “A slim, horizontal insertion was chosen for a smooth, modern profile. A mixture of materials for visual effects around the fireplace. Black soap stone with soft white shhering and microscopic gold, has been ignored for a natural matte finish. A flooring frimics is the look of concrete. Additional expansion and inautation for the omissions. There are horizontal grooves.
Other special features. “The fireplace structure spreads at a distance of 4 inches from the wall and ceiling, pronounced subtle with multicoller LED backlighting for a dramatic effect,” says Lopez. “Framless drywall pot lights were selected for the roof to maintain a minimum, uninterrupted roof aircraft.”
Designer tip. “With a 12-foot ceiling, the room felt irritable and disconnected,” says Perov. “To anchor blind space and create a more invited environment, the roof was painted a warm gray tint (penhouse by Benjamin Moore) instead of a warm white color, a ‘visual sandwich’ effect that balances the floor and roof and draws the eye.”
“Uh-oh” moment. “Originally, a thoughtful top vent integrated within the millwork in the fireplace design was integrated – a smooth, horizontal slot that is to maintain the clean profile,” says Lopez. “Although the installer refused to distract the standard protocol and emphasized using a visual metal vent, despite not mentioning such restrictions in the product guide. Learned the lesson. Always confirm that all contractors understand and agree before the installation starts before the installation starts. For bar-site and mid-establishment, “
