Whether you have purchased some new glass canteers or plans to uplift the glass food container, the first task is to get rid of the label. But when it is gone, some sticky residues usually stick to the glass. This is not a good look.
Here are five different ways to remove Go from their glasses, which have almost no problem.
Surgical spirit
My Go-Two relic is rubbing liquor. Once I peel as much as possible as a sticker or label, I saturate a cotton ball with a wine rub and place it on the sticky residues; Alcohol acts as a solvent to dissolve the glue. Be sure to let it sit for about 10 minutes and then erase the glue.
If some remains remain, repeat the steps with a fresh cotton ball. The additional advantage of using rubbing alcohol is that the glass does not need to be washed-it leaves nothing but a streak-free, residual-free glow.

white vinegar
Acidic nature of Vinegar acts as a solvent To remove some types of glue. Heat a small amount of undeclared distilled white vinegar in the microwave. Dip a sponge or old cloth in warm vinegar, and place it on top of the remains. Wait at least 5 minutes. Once the adhesive becomes loose, use a plastic spatula or an old credit card edge to remove it. Repeat all the remains until removed.
Baking soda and hot water
Fill a sink or container with warm water (boiling water is best) and immerse the glass pot. Soak it till the water cools down. Remove the glass and sprinkle sticky residues with baking soda. Use a moist microfiber fabric to gently scrub the viscous area. Wash the glass in hot, soap water, rinse well, and dry with a lint-free microfiber fabric.
For this method, hot water softens glue and Baking soda serves as a soft abrasive To remove it. You can substitute Bar keeper friendBon Ami, or Pink goods For baking soda – they are a soft abrasive to help remove all residues.
Hair dryer heat
The heat from the hair dryer will soften some adhesives so that you can remove them from the edge of the old credit card or plastic spatula. Set the hair dryer on medium-high heat and keep it a few inches away from the remains for 1 to 2 minutes. Repeat and repeat until the remains leave.
Peanut
The oil will loose some types of glue. Satisfy the remains with vegetable oil, butter, margarine or peanut butter. Cover the remains with plastic rap and allow the oil to work for at least 30 minutes. Remove plastic rap and use plastic scraper or old credit card edge to remove glue. Clean the glass in hot, soap water, rinse, and dry with a lint-free microfiber towel.
Additional tips for removing sticky residues from glass
- Use nail polish remover. Follow the recommended steps to use rubbing alcohol, but replace the nail polish remover (acetone) as a solvent to dissolve the glue.
- Try WD-4o. The WD-40 contains hydrocarbon solvents that can loose some glues. Spray labels with WD-40Cover it with plastic rap, and wait at least 20 minutes. Remove the label with a plastic scraper and wash the jar thoroughly in hot, soap water.
- Use a glass cleaner: Window cleaner such as windaux contains solvents that can help dissolve stickers residues.
