Leica Lux Grip Bluetooth communicates with a connected iPhone via low energy (BLE) and, as required, is designed to work with the Leica Lux app. Physical controls include a two-step shutter release that focuses with light pressure and captures an image with a full press, a control dial and two buttons. Dials and buttons are optimized and can be assigned to do specific functions, such as adjusting the zoom, changing the aperture, selecting the shutter speed, or setting the exposure compensation value. There is also a tripod thread mount on the bottom of Lux Grip.

Leica Lux Grip weigh 130 grams (4.6 ounces), and Leica says it is comfortable for either left hand or right -hand users, who is thanks to its rotten design. The grip has a built-in battery with enough juice for more than 1,000 photos and can be charged through the USB-C over two hours.

The Leica Lux iPhone app is an important part of the overall Leica Lux Grip experience in itself. The Lux app is updated to version 1.4, which brings the goodness of Lika’s 100th anniversary to the iPhone.
