YouTube app bringing translucent bottom bar to Android, iOS


youtube announced A number of updates to its mobile app in October, and a translucent bottom bar with a frosted glass effect is now available.

This frosted glass effect is subtle and – in my eyes – more pronounced when YouTube’s dark theme is enabled. Since the iPhone has a longer gesture area, this change is more noticeable on iOS than Android (unless 3-button navigation is enabled). Overall, it aims to provide a more immersive browsing experience.
