youtube announced A number of updates to its mobile app in October, and a translucent bottom bar with a frosted glass effect is now available.
Bottom bar, which was updated last month with modified markingsNow translucent. You can see what’s at the bottom (thumbnails) as you scroll through the app.
This frosted glass effect is subtle and – in my eyes – more pronounced when YouTube’s dark theme is enabled. Since the iPhone has a longer gesture area, this change is more noticeable on iOS than Android (unless 3-button navigation is enabled). Overall, it aims to provide a more immersive browsing experience.
