Kelly Reilly has spent more than half a decade filming the mega-hit “Yellowstone” in some of the West’s most stunning natural landscapes, including Park City and Ogden, Utah, and Darby and Missoula, Montana.
And although her character, the bitter and often sadistic Beth Dutton, may have been tired of her surroundings, Reilly pointed out Travel + Vacation Ahead of the show’s Sunday finale, she said she will always be amazed by the beauty of the show’s setting in real life.
“I was humbled by it,” she said. “You have bears and wolves and eagles and you feel very small but at the same time very connected to things. Not only has the role on the show been a gift, but experiencing that part of America has also been a gift.”

Off camera, one particularly humbling experience also made Reilly realize just how vast his surroundings in the West could be. At the beginning of the show, the actress was driving alone from the ranch in Darby, Montana, where the show’s Yellowstone Ranch is filmed, to a hotel in Rock Creek to meet her husband, Kyle Baugher. Google Maps gave him two options: a three-hour route that would take him to and around Missoula, or a more direct road that would only take an hour and 20 minutes. He chose the shorter route.
”I didn’t know it was called Skalkaho Pass, and that it was a mountain pass! And I’m doing it in November,” she said. I’m in a rental car and I’ve never been so scared in my life. By the time I got to the bar, I had a very large bourbon.’
Reilly has never shied away from adventure in her travels, even going on an impromptu solo trip to a cattle farm in Argentina after a breakup at the age of 20.
She recalled, “I was completely devastated, and I couldn’t face spending Christmas at home, so I got on a plane to Buenos Aires and I went to this cattle farm for two weeks. Went.” “It was magical, therapeutic and emotional for me. It’s woven into your life in this way. If you’re lucky enough to travel, it’s such an experience.
Although following yellowstoneHer next venture – partnering with and becoming the face of a campaign Ammunition Wine & Whiskey – While she may not be as outgoing, Reilly is adapting to her new role.
“I want whiskey and I want bourbon,” he said. “I have a lot of female friends who drink bourbon, but it still feels like it’s a man’s drink, and we’re not going to change anything. We’re just saying, ‘Hey, we’re at the party too, and we’re enjoying it.’
Perhaps a natural fit, Reilly’s favorite hotel is also in a state known for whiskey. Blackberry Farm in Tennessee,
“It’s a really beautiful place,” she said. “You’re in nature, but you’re also having a beautiful meal, and they have a wine cellar to die for. So it’s kind of the juxtaposition of the two, that wedding. But if I go with my husband for the weekend “That’s one of my favorite things about a hotel, so I’m always looking for more.”
