World Sports Photography Award Winner
World Sports Photography Awards has announced the winners of its 2025 competition, highlighting showstopping moments from a host of sporting events. The competition included the work of over 2,200 professional sports photographers from over 96 countries around the world. In total, more than 13,000 images were submitted this year.
Coming out on top and earning the overall gold award was Tahiti-based French photographer Jérôme Brouillette. His image of Brazilian surfer Gabriel Medine, titled “Golden Moment”, was captured on the third day of the surfing event at the 2024 Olympic Games in Teahupo’o. Petr Slavik earned a silver medal for “Heaven”, while Anton Anestić earned a bronze award overall for “Zebra Crossing”.
In addition to the three overall winners, the competition awarded individual gold, bronze, silver and special merit awards in 24 sports categories. Those categories include specific sports such as rugby, tennis and Formula 1, as well as broader groups such as martial arts, athletics, aquatics and winter sports.
