Williams F1 junior approaches 2025 Super Formula seat with O’Sullivan Kondo


Williams Formula 1 junior driver Zak O’Sullivan has been announced at Kondo Racing as part of the 13-strong Toyota roster for the 2025 Super Formula season.

After driving on the final day of the Suzuka post-season test earlier this month, O’Sullivan will race full-time in Kondo’s #4 car next season, Kenta Yamashita In the squad.

The ex-Formula 2 racer was one of three international drivers who took part in the Suzuka test, along with fellow Briton James Hedley and his former F2 rival Juan Manuel Correa.

O’Sullivan replaces kazuto kotaka in Kondo, but Kotaka will remain on the grid as part of the newly created TGMGP TGR-DC team.

The team, which bears the name of Toyota’s domestic young driver program and boasts sponsorship from communications company KDDI, will use staff from Servus Japan, which ran the TGM effort this year with Honda engines.

Kotaka has been included in the squad along with fellow Toyota junior Hibiki Taira, while Seita Nonaka, who impressed in testing for KCMG at Suzuka this month, has been named as a reserve.

Elsewhere in the Toyota line-up, Sacha Fenestraz has been confirmed Sho TsuboiAs team-mate at TOM’S, the Argentinian driver undertakes a double program that will also see him return to the marque’s SUPER GT roster with Team SARD.

Former Jota World Endurance Championship racer Oliver Rasmussen has also earned a full-time seat with Team Impuls on the strength of his test performances this year.

The Danish driver joins Mitsunori Takaboshi at Impuls, as he moves on from his previous role as a Nissan Super GT regular driving Toyota’s development car.

KCMG (kamui kobayashi,Nirei Fukuzumi), inging (Sena Sakaguchi,Toshiki Oyu) and Rookie Racing (kazuya oshima) all have the same line-ups as this season.

There’s no room for this in the expanded Toyota roster Ukyo SasharaJoe was another driver to test for Kondo, but lost out to O’Sullivan in his bid for a full-time seat with the team.
