Week Kitchen: Head for History in a renovated farmhouse

Dover, Massachusetts had a lot of basic attractions in the 1800s farmhouse, but many renewal had also occurred over the years. The owner of the house, parents of two young boys, needed help in adopting the kitchen to work with their 21st century lifestyle. Interior designer Jean Barber says, “I will describe my customers’ style as traditional but clean and ineffective.”

The current kitchen was generous shape, but a lot of ruined place. For the new layout, the barber considered things such as making a way for young children living here to improve traffic flows between rooms, adjust the meetings and catch drinks and snacks at one place outside the triangle of work. She aims to mix modern features with traditional elements, and she did so efficiently, she gave the kitchen that she calls the “mood and soul”.
