Text description provided by architects. The project involved a major transformation of the entrepreneur’s neorealist-style villa of the 1960s, located on a hill with commanding views. Annecy Lake. The extension to the side of the garden serves as an additional layer that offers a dramatic view overlooking the lake through a prominent panoramic opening.
The existing house has been renovated on all three levels and was initially composed of small independent and single-purpose rooms, the aim of the project was to modify this spatiality that no longer suits contemporary uses.
The structure of the building is now visible in the interiors. Each load-bearing frame is treated with different forms that suit specific structural and spatial challenges. From the entrance, there is a picture rail chimney in the wall and a view of a row of columns and the remains of the former façade.
The chromatic and stylistic codes of its construction period are reproduced in the appropriate register of the form through the use of Tyrolean render, marquetry and terrazzo floors.
