TTartisan has announced AF 35mm F1.8 Ⅱ, second generation version of its common focal length lens for APS-C cameras. In addition to being smaller and lighter than its predecessor with a shorter minimum focusing distance, it is now available for the Nikon Z mount as well as the Sony E mount and Fujifilm X mount.
The lens is 49 mm (1.9″) long, 16 mm shorter than its predecessor, although it has the same diameter at 65 mm. At 176 grams, it is slightly lighter than the first generation, which was 199 grams. It is 52 Accepts mm filters.
According to product photography from TTArtisan, the Nikon version appears to have an additional design evolution that the others don’t. Near the lens mount, there is a notched ring that looks like an aperture control ring, although there is no marking on the aperture. The company’s website does not mention whether the ring has any functional purpose.

The optical formula of the lens consists of 10 elements in seven groups, including two high index elements and two additional low dispersion elements. Its minimum focusing distance is 40 cm (~16″), down from 60 cm (~24″) on the first-gen model.
