Travis Kelce Buys Stake in Canadian Racehorse Named After Taylor Swift
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce bought a stake in a Canadian racehorse named after his music superstar girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
In a press release issued Tuesday, Team Valor said the three-time Super Bowl winner has acquired a “significant” interest in Swift Delivery, a three-year-old gelding living and racing at Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto.
Kelce has been dating Swift for about a year and has appeared at several of her concerts during The Tour of the eraswho will be in Toronto in November and Vancouver in December. Swift has been a prominent fan of Kelce in many NFL games during this period.
“It’s very exciting,” Team Valor International founder and CEO Barry Irwin told The Associated Press on Tuesday.
“I met him at the Kentucky Derby and got to hang out with him and stuff, and we talked about horses and stuff. When this horse was discovered and it was already owned by one of my partners, with that name, I thought it would be a no-brainer.”
Horse’s name is a ‘total coincidence’: Irwin
Woodbine Entertainment, which operates Woodbine Racetrack, said in a statement Wednesday that it is open to the idea of Kelce and Swift visiting Swift Delivery when November rolls around.

“Already the winner of two races this year, Swift Delivery is expected to compete this Saturday in the Toronto Cup, presented by Crown Royal and worth $125,000. This will be the young horse’s first major race,” he said.
“With Taylor Swift set to be part of Era’s tour in Toronto this November, the couple is welcome to visit Swift Delivery anytime!”
Irwin told The Associated Press that the horse’s name was a “total coincidence.” He added that Kelce had been a co-owner for about a month and had agreed Tuesday to disclose his involvement.
Kelce is friends with Phantom Fireworks CEO Bruce Zoldan’s son, Alex, The Associated Press reported. The Zoldan family has a long history in horse racing, including with 2011 Derby winner Animal Kingdom.
