“Do I think the ninth fully reflects what we have achieved? No, there are some great gains coming in technology and some great things are coming in the future. That’s what I’m focused on.

“Does it disappoint me that we are ninth? Yes, absolutely, because I still love to come to a race weekend and get everything out of there, and this year we haven’t done that.

“We’ve really been hurt by a fair amount of friction. We’ve been hurt by (our) own changing technologies, which created a car that wasn’t at the weight limit and we weren’t able to show the world what we do.” Can.

“And then you get the odd races where people might see, ‘Williams is able to get to almost third quarter the whole time’, but we’re not delivering that.

“There will always be disappointments, but it’s overwhelmed by the positive news behind the scenes. The world will only really see it through progress in 2025, ’26, ’27.”
