A helicopter crashed into the Hudson River in Manhattan, in which at least five people were killed on the board, NBC New York InformedCiting sources. A sixth person was drawn from water.
NBC New York also said that four people were pulled by water and rushed to a hospital. It was not clear how many people were on the helicopter.
The video posted on social media showed a helicopter in the Hudson River upside down.
NYPD said in a post on X, “Due to a helicopter crash in the Hudson River, in the vicinity of the West Side Highway and Spring Street, emergency vehicles and traffic are expected to be delayed in the surrounding areas.”
According to a flight-tracking site Flightradar24, the helicopter appeared as a bell 206L-4 Longranger.
An eyewitness told NBC New York that he saw the helicopter loses a propeller and the nose of the aircraft pointed down.
The flight path showed the helicopter flying over the Hudson River, reaching a height of about 1,100 feet, and Fort Lee, revolving around by New Jersey, was shown with final contact near Hobocaine, New Jersey, Flightradar24 data.

The flight record of the helicopter showed it several times in the last few days to take off and land from the city Manhattan Haleport. Such routes are common with travel to sightseeing, but it was not immediately clear what the flight was the purpose on Thursday.
The National Transport Safety Board said that it would investigate the accident and it is still collecting information. The federal aviation administration did not comment immediately.
