Synology has announced a two new discustation models that serve as a network attached collection (NAS) or storage area network (SAN) solutions. DS1825+ and DS725+ have facilities for eight and two hard drive bay respectively.
The new 25-series products complement the recently declared DS425+, DS925+, and DS1525+model of Synology. Each model, including a pair of new people, has a M.2 NVMMMM slot for 2.5Gbe RJ-45 port, SSD cash or storage, and, except, except DS425+, scalability thanks to the expansion module that can add additional drive bay to a storage array.
“DS1825+ provides a powerful basis for data management and collaboration,” Jeffrey Huang, says Sinology Product Manager. “With the requirements developed for data management, it is designed to give business-grade performance, scalability and reliability.”
Meanwhile, DS725+ promises similar performance in a small package that is easy to use in a comfortable workpiece.
“(DS725+) is a compact but competent platform that creates a great fit for home offices, edge deployment and growing teams,” says Anya Lynn, another product manager of Sinology.
The 8-Bay DS1825+ has a dual 2.5Gbe port and two m.2 NVME slots, supporting SSD cashing or can serve as an all-flow storage pool. The new discustation model also has a PCIE 3.0 expansion slot for optional 10/25gbe network upgrade. When using SSD, the system reads up up to 2,239 MB/s speed and writes up to 1,573 MB/s, which are sufficient for all photography workflows and even high-end video setups.
DS1825+ also supports a pair of DX525 expansion units, which enables users to increase the total raw storage capacity that is up to 360TB. With raid 5 setup, raw storage of 360TB includes 309TB usable space. This is a lot of pictures and videos. Synology contains a storage calculator To help users determine the useable location with various hard drive arrangements and RAID systems.
Two-bay DS725+ does not offer raw storage capacity of its elder siblings, but it still works to reach 140TB of raw capacity with a single DX525 expansion unit. It also includes a pair of 2.5Gbe port, 1gbe port and M.2 NVME slot.
25-Series as NAS System, both DS1825+ and DS725+ Syntology is required For complete functionality, which is not necessarily an issue with 3.5 ″ Sata HDD drive, but is quite expensive About Sangat SSD. Synology states that this ban ensures continuous performance.
