Samsung’s Good Lock allows deep customization in One UI without the need for root or any other complex mods, but the framework is limited to certain regions, and is only accessible through the Galaxy Store. However, that’s changing in 2025, as Good Lock will be coming to the Google Play Store and all countries as Samsung is expanding the feature with One UI 7.
Good Lock has been available for several years at this point and the feature is designed to allow users to have more control over the software. Among the modifications to the first-party Samsung Launcher for the ability to run any app on the Galaxy Z Flip’s cover display, this may actually address some of the shortcomings of Samsung’s Android skin, and even Can also solve some real problems.
In One UI 7, Samsung will expand Good Lock to more users as the feature is not only expanding to “all” countries, but will also be coming to the Google Play Store.
Samsung confirmed this news in a forum post ,through) where a company representative said that Good Lock in One UI 7 “can be used in all countries.” Distribution will also be made available through the Google Play Store instead of only through Galaxy Store.
Starting with One UI 7.0 Good Lock, Good Lock can be downloaded from Play Store as well as Galaxy Store and Good Lock can be used in all countries. This is something that many customers have been asking for and we hope it will provide more convenient access to more Galaxy users.
However, this won’t be the only major change, as Samsung is also redesigning the Good Lock app, explaining (translated) that “the overall structure of the main app has been changed to improve UI convenience.” The post notes that it will include a filter for specific Good Lock apps and a new “My Pages” tab that will let users better manage Good Lock apps. Samsung says that many Good Lock apps that are not currently available with One UI 7 will be updated soon.
One UI 7, Samsung’s Android 15 update, is currently in beta on the Galaxy S24 series, and is set to launch on the Galaxy S25 series later in January.
