Remember November and December when Americans looked up to the sky and were convinced it was full of mysterious drones? It went quiet last month after the FAA put flight ban On drone flights in the Northeast. But they are back. Or, at least, the vision of those who believe they are seeing strange drones has returned.
Enigma Labs, a company that researches unidentified aerial vehicle sightings, reports that it has received more than 650 drone-related sightings since November 20, the majority of which new JerseyBut there are other states including philosophy new yorkDelaware, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
“This month we received 54 reports since January, 48% of which were from NJ. Combined, NY and NJ make up 61% of views in January,” the company told Gizmodo over email on Monday.
The FBI has said there has been nothing “unusual” about the flights they have investigated, but there is still an air of mystery about what is really happening when people see things they can’t explain. But this does not mean that something nefarious is happening.
On one end of the spectrum, people believe they are seeing aliens from another planet visiting Earth. But the more likely explanations fall into three major groups: 1) they’re paranormal aircraft of a foreign adversary, 2) they’re paranormal aircraft controlled by the U.S. government or government contractors, and 3) they’re regular planes that people are just finding strange. Because we’ve whipped ourselves into mass hysteria.
Some combination of two and three seems most likely at this point, especially since the Pentagon has repeatedly said that whatever the planes, they are not a threat to the country. But that hasn’t stopped some right-wing politicians from insisting that they are actually drones from a foreign country that want to harm America.
Representative Jeff Van Drew, a Republican from New Jersey, even claimed last month that UAPs are actually Iranian drones launched from a mothership off the US east coast. No evidence has been presented so far that whatever people are seeing in the sky was launched by Iran, China or any other geopolitical rival.
“After closely examining technical data and tips from concerned citizens, we have assessed that the sightings observed to date include legitimate commercial drones, hobbyist drones and law enforcement drones as well as manned fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters and drones.” Involves a combination of stars from. “Reported as a drone,” a joint statement from DHS, the FBI, the FAA and the Department of Defense said. last month,
The statement continued, “We have not identified anything unusual and have not assessed the activity to date to present a national security or public safety risk over civil airspace over New Jersey or other states in the Northeast.”
Donald Trump promised in November to get to the bottom of what was happening with the alleged drones. But since assuming office on January 20, he has not yet given any concrete statement about what those are.
On January 20, Fox News reporter Steve Doocy asked Trump about drones in the Oval Office of the White House, where Trump responded, “I would like to find out what it is and tell people. In fact, I would like to do that,” according to newsnation,
Trump appeared to instruct his White House chief of staff Susie Wills to get right on that and turned to her and said, “Can we find out what that was, Susie? “Why don’t we find out right away?”
Needless to say, they did not immediately agree to this. And we won’t hold our breath waiting for Trump to clarify whatever it is people are seeing in the sky.
