The revolving door of fashion keeps going ’round and round’. last month, Chanel names Matthew Blazey as its new artistic directorHis replacement at Bottega Veneta? Lewis TrotterWho previously designed for Carven and Lacoste. Now, we have another big change. Proenza Schouler’s founders, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, are leaving the brand they founded in 2002. His last day will be January 31, 2025. It is reported that he will be designing the next work for Loewe, but this has not yet been confirmed.
“We have always valued risk-taking and a sense of adventure and are prepared to keep ourselves ready for whatever comes next.” Hernandez said in a statement. His colleague shared his thoughts about the change. “We will miss working every day with the extraordinary teams we have built at Proenza Schouler, who are like family to us,” McCollough said. “Without their hard work and dedication to our vision we would never have experienced the heights we have achieved over the years, nor the more difficult moments without their unwavering support and belief in what we do. Could cope.”
His replacement hasn’t been announced yet, but we’ll be sure to update you when we hear more. In the meantime, to celebrate the end of the era, scroll down to shop my favorite Proenza Schouler pieces designed by McCollough & Hernandez.
