local studio Maynard Dworkind is wearing an irregularly shaped Vietnamese dress restaurant Interior with blue and white mosaic tiles and yellow accents montreal,
le red tiger The restaurant occupies a lean-to storefront in Montreal’s Shoppe Angus district – the restaurant’s second location.
The design works to preserve the vibrant spirit and energy of its predecessor, which opened in the Village neighborhood in 2015.
Montreal based Maynard Dworkind Helped create a warm, festive backdrop for the intense culinary experience, where up to 100 guests could dine on dishes inspired by Vietnamese street food and a selection of cocktails.
“The idea was to allow restaurant goers to eat what Le Red Tiger is serving and travel through Vietnam, no airfare required,” co-founder Guillaume Ménard told Dezeen.
The interiors blend utilitarian essentials – like exposed chrome duct work – with vintage touches to evoke nostalgia.
“The interior design of Le Red Tiger strikes a perfect balance between modernity and vintage charm.”
The custom-made ceramic mosaic floor creates a sense of movement with blocky zig-zags in light blue and black on a white background. Meanwhile, black walnut furniture and floors bring vintage warmth to the space.
The lime plaster and beige square tile walls fade into the background as a neutral element.
The restaurant makes the most of its small, irregular footprint, with a raised platform dining space above the main floor. Multiple layers add both depth and perspective to the dining area.
An open kitchen runs along the party wall, allowing guests to interact with the bartenders and cooks and watch them work, while more space for kitchen preparation is kept in a room at the back of the house.
Above the yellow-accented bar on a walnut-clad bulkhead, hangs an orange neon sign that reads “Cần Dằng Cần Vuí” – the more, the merrier – a nod to the restaurant’s Vietnamese roots and philosophy of dining together. In form of.
At the center of the plan is a long, angular community table made of British Columbia cedar. Paired with industrial-style stools, the table invites guests to socialize and share beneath suspended Asian lanterns.
The light dark green and dark yellow doors reflect the light blue of the floor, which wraps around the wall for a 180-degree patterned ambience in the hallway and toilet.
Continuing the trend of combining muted tones with bold colors, a soft coral colored banquette runs in front of the bar, wrapping the back corner of the elevated dining space, where a built-in planter provides an organic respite from the geometric interiors. Provides.
The combination of a variety of seating arrangements with different textures and specific accent colors is a signature of the interior work of Maynard Dworkind restaurants.
The studio has completed several other Montreal dining venues including Mirrored Italian Restaurant With leafy gardens, a retro coffee bar With teal booths and checkerboard floors, a French Restaurant With custom wine storage and an acoustic inlay ceiling design and a New York style pizzeria With white pine and green wall treatments.
