In other bath layouts, tubs may be contrary to sinks and toilets, as shown here. The International Residential Code (IRC) requires minimal 21 inches (53 cm) of a clear location in front of the toilet, so be sure to allow this dimension – and if possible more than the minimum.
This is not uncommon to enter the configurations that do not meet the minimum standards in older structures. But if you are remodeling, then decide to note the toilet dimensions in your project so that you have enough space.
There are standard size toilets and long configurations. The long type of room will extend an additional 2 to 3 inches (5 to 8 centimeters) in the room.
