Venus optics announced Lava 8-15 mm F/2.8 FF Zoom Fishia LensOne type of lens that gives a circular fish at 8 mm and a rectangular fish effect at 15 mm. There is also a video-oriented version, lava 8–15 mm t2.9 FF Zoom Fishi Cine.
While photos and cine versions differ in terms of their physical designs, a traditional form with photo version and characteristic of 0.8m gear pitching in layout and cinema version, both versions promise the same thing: Dynamic Fishia perspective.
At 8 mm, the Laowa captures the area of a view of 180 degrees into a circle 8–15 mm f/2.8 FF zoom fish. It has clear curvature and a different look. Meanwhile, the lens zoom up to 15 mm as the lens, the angle of the scene becomes slightly compressed, and the lens becomes a diagonal, or rectangular, fishya lens, which has a broad, slightly distorted perspective that works well for immersive landscape and astrophotography. Now photographers and filmmakers do not need to swap the lens to achieve these two dramatically different -different fish effects.
Full-frame fish lenses have 13 elements arranged in nine groups and promise high-end image quality. The manual focus lens can focus closely as a 16 cm (6.3 in), which enables the maximum magnification of 0.23x, which is not only a wide-angle lens but also for a fishy.
Possibly two versions of the lens will have different dimensions and weight, but the cinema version is not yet listed on Lava’s website. The photo version weighs 650 grams (23 ounces) and is 94.5 millimeters (3.7 in) long. Given that the front element is very convex, the lens does not accept the front filter.
Friend of Petpixel Gordon linga off Cameralabes Prior to today’s announcement, Laowa got his hands on 8–15 mm F/2.8 FF Zoom Fishia lens, described it as a “unique” lens for full-frame mirrorless cameras.
In the form of gender notes, full-frame fish lenses are very rare. The canon EF 8–15 mm F/4 L USM and Nikon AF-S 8–15 mM F/3.5-4.5 Ed, both are around $ 1,200, have autofocus facilities and are easily adapted to mirrorless cameras. The lava is 8–15 mm f/2.8 faster and more inexpensive, making it a welcome new lens for native mirrorless photography.
