When? Stephen Welch Architects This decades old Melbourne stepped into the house, they met with a challenge: a layout manufactured in three disconnected stages. The kitchen was removed, the rooms were divided by narrow corridors, and when the footprint was generous, it lacked harmony and functionality for modern life.
Instead of expanding the footprint, the architects re -prepared the interior. By removing the walls, they created a replacement for a harmonious central living, where the kitchen, food, and comfortable areas flow together, which makes the social heart of the house.
Allow the traditional “forest room, one function” approach, the architects prepared a place that invites the connection, where family and friends can cook, eat food and rest together.
Around the kitchen, the underlying bench and flexible seating place creates a place that welcomes for casual chat because it is for the dinner of the family.
Relative to urban disposal supplements Vik Ash Timber floor kitchen cabinetry, while glaciers white korean countertops feel crisp and bright the space.
An underlying breakfast provides the garden view and a cool place to start the day, while putting it on top of the bench of the kitchen brings texture and personality to the space by putting it in open cold storage.
Here is a video in which the architect is talking about the house.
