“Sometimes simple details are expensive; at the other time, a design change can save so much money,” Berry says. “Always be open and honest with your designer about money. We have knowledge and tricks to make wow without wow price tag.”
“I always advise my customers to spend most of the kitchen budget on cabinet and doors, as they get the most use of them,” says Davis. “The kitchen cabinets especially, although not necessarily not seen, take the weight of (countertop) and need to be harsh for many years, so do the doors to combine. I use a car analogy: you don’t see the chassis, but need to be high quality to ensure a great vehicle.
“Where I often suggest that customers can save money on equipment. We only sell quality brands, meaning that their entry-level products are still excellent quality, using similar components as a more expensive model. This difference is often in the available features, so I have a good conversation with my customers, which they can help in choosing the best-wide-wide equipment for their budget.”
McCrostie offers another tip: “Where a kitchen is perfectly custom, a pile of broad drawer can be designed in a plan to reduce the overall number, as the drawer is more expensive than the wardrobe.”
