After Wood Brothers decided to let him go last year, Burton lost his full -time ride in the cup series, signing Josh Berry As their replacement. However, his unexpected victory in the cheerful round of the regular season took him from the final in the standing inside the playoffs. It was Burton’s only win as a cup driver and the 100th win for the veteran Wood Brothers team. This will be his first presence in the all-star race, as well as proceeding without competing in the open on the first three occasions.
“The all-star race is one of the events that you are older, so having a spot on the grid is really special,” Burton said. “Win in Detona last year was a big moment in my career, and I am thankful for Rick and the entire RWR team that I got the opportunity to make me counting that victory by putting me in my car for the all-star race. We are building some great motion in the XFINITY series, and I am anxious to take the best in the North Villksboro and perform all the best in the game.”
Burton finally ranked in the 16-driver playoffs, but got a new ride in the NASCAR XFINITY series for 2025. Driving for AM racing, he has performed concretely with a top five and six top tens in the first 12 races of the year. He currently ranks tenth in the overall standing.
