George Martin confirmed the desire to leave the Aprilia for Motogp 2026

“At any point I have not violated the contract,” said Martin, who won the title with last year’s Prakya Ducati.

“When we signed it, I agreed with Aprilia that if certain conditions were not met, I would reserve the right to decide my future for 2026. It was an essential situation for me to accept the offer of the contract at that time.

“When I decided to change the manufacturers last year, one of my major requirements had to test the bike under real circumstances and understand the dynamic and working ways. Thus, I could feel confident in signing for two years instead of two, and that’s why we included this situation.

“Facing the need to make a decision by the scheduled date in the contract, I have chosen to exercise my right to be issued for the 2026 season. I have always made respect, clarity and only intended to take control of my future as a professional athlete.

“Unfortunately, the circumstances caused by accidents – while they do not change the agreement – has affected this phase. That’s why I have always been open to interact with Aprilia, with my return to increase the period of evaluation to a certain number of Grand Prix races.

“The goal is to give each other a chance for both sides and feel comfortable before deciding for 2026.”

Martin emphasized his honor for the team to maintain a non-tone towards the manufacturer, which is currently third in standing after seven rounds.

“I have always been honest with Aprilia,” he said. “I give importance to the efforts of the bike, team, and all in the project. I ask my wishes and the feeling that we agreed to be honored.

“There is no conflict or fault. I just want to be able to look forward with clarity after going through very difficult moments and a serious injury, and continue to give my best on and out on the track.”

The 27 -year -old started his Motogp in 2021 with the Pramac team under the Ducati contract.

Ducati promised to promote him twice for both 2023 and 2026 in his factory team, but failed to deliver on any occasion.
