Frank Lloyd Wright’s final residential design completed in Ohio
Frank Lloyd Rights Last Residential The design has been brought to life in Wilobi Hills, OhioWith the receipt of Riverock – a house that was originally conceived as a Penfield House in 1959, but is now emerging from the archives only. For a long time to be lost to history, the project is the final unbtt right design that is still connected to its original site. The central, a specific chinar tree still stands for the view of Wright where he once imagined. Two years ago, in 2023, owners Marika and Don Dystra did the formidable work of construction Stone The house is fine, as the right is intended, ensuring that each visible details matches the original blueprint, while below the surface is prudent for today’s building code.

Tour to Riverock, from blueprint to reality
Story of Riverock Habitat Right’s prolonged ties with Louis Penfield, who commissioned him in 1953 to design the Penfield House. However, when the plan for the interstate 90 threatened to claim assets, Penfield sought a new home design from the legendary architect. Although Wright officially shut down the designing residents, he created an exception to Penfield, drafting another house just before his passing in April 1959. Month later, the Penfield family received an unexpected delivery – a mailing tube from Talecin West that included the final picture. Listed as Project #5909 in Talesin Archives, it will be the final residential commission of the right.
An integral part of the identity of the house comes from its name, Riverock. The original specification book of Frank Lloyd Wright determined the use of locally eaten stone, a material that was individually gathered from the Chagrin River in the 1960s. Decades later, dicstras discovered these rocks again in the forest, included them in construction and united residences for both their past and landscape. This discovery inspired a subtle amendment of the name, honoring the historical significance of the material. With careful adherence to the blueprints of the Wright, Riverock today stands as a tribute to his legacy and an extraordinary feeling of a long -term unrelated work.

A rare opportunity to live inside a right residence
Unlike several houses of Frank Lloyd Wright, which are preserved as museums, Riverock provides a immersive experience, a where guests can live within their architecture as they intend. The residence is available for private migration, allowing visitors to appreciate the design philosophy without obstacles or crowds. The house provides a cool return, settled inside the 30 wooden acre along the Chagrin River.
The three bedrooms, a working wooden chimney, and all modernly integrated with modern comfort, can accommodate six guests, Riverock. The house is located just outside Cleveland, which has easy access to cultural sites such as Cleveland Museum of Art and Savement Hall as well as nearby parks and walking trails.
