Family of three, including baby, die in accident Agassiz Tuesday.
The family, who have not been identified, were driving on the Lougheed Highway around 3:27 a.m. when their vehicle collided head-on with a tractor-trailer.
The two adults in the vehicle were pronounced deceased at the scene, according to Upper Fraser Valley RCMP.
The infant was airlifted to hospital but died hours later, despite the efforts of first responders and hospital staff, police said.
The driver of the semi-trailer was not injured.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but alcohol or drugs are not believed to be a factor, police added.
“I would like to thank my officers and all first responders who attended this tragic incident for their hard work and dedication to serving the victims and their families. We are working to support everyone affected by this accident and the loss of an entire family. I have initiated mental health support for everyone involved,” said Sergeant Andy Lot, Detachment Commander of the Agassiz RCMP, in a statement.
“We are asking any witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage in the area of the 8100 block of Lougheed Highway between 3:00 a.m. and 3:45 a.m. to please contact Agassiz RCMP at 604-796-2211.”
