Ellen DeGeneres Abruptly Cancels Comedy Tour Dates Without Giving Reason – National
Ellen Degeneres has canceled four of its upcoming comedy shows, for reasons that remain unclear.
The Ellen’s Last Stand…Up tour is the former TV host’s first major foray into the spotlight, two years after her eponymous talk show was canceled following allegations of workplace toxicity. DeGeneres Ticketmaster PageTour dates in Dallas, San Francisco, Seattle and Chicago have been canceled.
“Unfortunately, the event organizer has had to cancel your event,” Ticketmaster’s update reads.
DeGeneres has yet to make a public statement on why these concerts were canceled. Her team has also not provided any information on the reasons for the sudden cancellations. The Dallas concert that was canceled was scheduled for July 10 and the Chicago concert was scheduled for August 11. These two dates were the only ones scheduled for those cities.
DeGeneres had scheduled two nights of performances in San Francisco (July 20-21) and Seattle (July 22-23). For both cities, the second date of the tour has been canceled.
THE remaining show in San Francisco appears to have dozens of tickets still available for purchase, as does the remaining date in Seattlesuggesting that low ticket sales could be the reason for the cancellations.

DeGeneres was a titan of daytime television with The Ellen DeGeneres Show. She fell from grace in 2020 after employees on the show came forward with allegations of racism, bullying and sexual misconduct by top producers. DeGeneres reportedly addressed her unceremonious exit from daytime television during a comedy segment on Ellen’s Last Stand, joking that She was “kicked out” of showbiz because she was “mean.”

DeGeneres later commented that the fallout from the 2020 investigation into her show was actually the second time she was “kicked out of show business,” referring to how her sitcom Ellen, which was canceled in 1998 after she came out as gay.
“For those of you following the accounts, this is the second time I’ve been fired from show business… Finally, they’re going to fire me a third time because I’m mean, old and gay.”
DeGeneres apologized to her staff in July 2020 after allegations of workplace toxicity emerged.
“The first day of our show, I told everyone at our first meeting that The Ellen DeGeneres Show “It would be a happy place, no one would raise their voice and everyone would be treated with respect,” DeGeneres said. “Obviously, something has changed and I’m disappointed to hear that’s not the case. And for that, I’m sorry. Anyone who knows me knows that’s the opposite of what I believe and what I hoped for our show.”
